Atikin Foundation
One of our primary missions is to provide purpose-built facilities that allow domestic violence victims to live independently.
Beyond this, we passionately advocate for the need for specialized housing tailored to the needs of those affected by domestic violence.
Raising awareness about the challenges and needs of domestic violence sufferers is at the core of our commitment.
Additionally, we actively engage in fundraising activities to ensure that we can continue to fulfill the noble objectives of the Charity.
Hannah's Sanctuary
Hannah Clarke was an Australian woman who was fatally burned in a petrol fire in her car along with her three children, in a quadruple murder/suicide by her estranged husband, Rowan Baxter, in Camp Hill, Queensland in February 2020.
Hannah’s three children and age at time of death were Aaliyah, 6; Laianah, 4; and Trey, 3.
In memory of Hannah and her three children, Hannah’s Sanctuary was built to provide a safe place for families escaping domestic violence.
The project is a collaboration of two incredible organisations - Small Steps 4 Hannah and Beyond DV.
The goal is for the families to live there for 12 to 18 months, supported by a range of recovery programs and services.
CONSTRUCTION
The construction of Hannah’s Sanctuary (HS) was delivered by TPG Projects and Brisbane Builders in collaboration with a long list of dedicated contractors and consultants. HS would not have been possible without the kind and generous donations by many building material suppliers and subcontractors. ATIKIN Foundation thanks all those who participated for their support of this important project.
